“This is the second time in two weeks the safety board has sent investigators to help in aircraft accident investigations in Africa,” the National Transportation Security Board (NTSB) announced January five. NTSB investigators will guide in the investigations into the Dec. 25 crash of a B727 at Benin and the Jan. five crash of a B737 at Sharm el-Sheikh. The fatal accident rate in Africa is additional than 20 times greater than in Europe, North America and portions of Asia (Japan, Australia). Lack of capital, lack of infrastructure, lack of coaching, and operation of second and third-hand aircraft are contributing factors.
